Information leakage in Orvibo's intelligent devices

vpnMentor's team of cybersecurity experts, led by Noam Rotem and Ran Locar, discovered an unprotected database linked to Orvibo Smart Home products, a company dedicated to the sale of items framed in IoT, IA and cloud computing.

The database includes more than 2 billion records with information of all types, including usernames, email addresses, passwords and precise locations, among others.

The company has recognized the error, fixed it, and improved its security measures, both in its encryption mechanisms and in the protection of user accounts. It has also strengthened its cooperation with companies specializing in cybersecurity.
