Theft by email at iLearningEngines

US-based enterprise AI software training company iLearningEngines has reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it suffered a theft of $250,000 in company funds. The company went public in April 2024 and claims to work for more than 1,000 different firms and reports profits of $135m in its last four months.

The incident occurred when an unidentified threat actor gained access to hundreds of files across the company's network through email compromise. Once inside, he managed to redirect one of the company's payments. Upon learning of the incident, the company launched an investigation, which has involved external security firms.
