250 million computers infected with Chinese malware

A research team of the Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point have discovered a malware, called Fireball, that could affect more than 250 million of devices worldwide and it would be present in 20% of corporate networks. This malware would have the ability, among other threats, to facilitate the execution of remote code on the affected computer and would allow the manipulation of the web browser to generate fraudulent traffic for commercial purposes. The research team indicated Chinese digital marketing company Rafotech charged with spreading of Fireball, including it inside free and seemingly innocuous applications that would download and install later automatically that malware on the infected computer.
