The Balearic Islands' healthcare system suffers a cyberattack

The Servei de Salut de Balears was forced to activate the IT security protocol after a cyberattack was detected in the health services of the community, forcing it to change the passwords of users with access to the system and restricting Internet browsing.

The National Police, the National Data Protection Office and the National Cryptologic Centre have opened an investigation to determine whether the cyberattack suffered by the Balearic healthcare system could have compromised the security of patients' medical data.
