Guardia Civil closes a criminal organization carried out swapping SIM scams

Five people have been arrested by Guardia Civil of León within the named operation “Duplex Card”, developed between Leon and Barcelona, where those involved used the SIM swapping to carry out the fraud.

The investigation began in August 2019 after receiving a complaint where 6,900 euros had been stolen from the victim.

After investigations carried out by the Guardia Civil, it was determined that the fraud originated in the Barcelona town of Cornellá de Llobregat, where the suspect, together with four collaborators, was carrying out the complex criminal plot.
