Hostinger, victim of an information leak

Hostinger, a hosting and domain service, had to reset the passwords of 14 million users as a protection measure after suffering a cyber attack that led to a massive data leak.

According to company statements, the attackers were able to access one of their servers containing an authorization token, which was later used to escalate privileges in the system.

Private data to which attackers have had access includes customer usernames, e-mails, passwords (although hashed), names and IP addresses, physical addresses and phone numbers.

Once the data theft was detected, they isolated the compromised server, and they have reset all their customers' passwords, so they will have to change them obligatorily.
