The International Automobile Federation, which is in charge of Formula 1 and other motorsports, has suffered a cyber-attack, as they have published in a press release. Specifically, the attackers gained unauthorized access to personal data after compromising several FIA email accounts in a phishing attack.

The organization, which detected and contained the attack, proceeded to inform the relevant agencies, such as the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés, and the Préposé Fédéral à la Protection des Données et à la Transparence (the protection regulatory agencies of France and Switzerland, respectively), as well as implementing additional security measures.
