Qatar's state news agency claims to have suffered a cyberattack

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that after a government investigation, it can be said that the state news agency QNA, Qatar News Agency, suffered a cyber attack by which they published on their website false statements attributed to the country's emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The statements were withdrawn and attributed to a computer attack on which no one has been published who would be to blame. The Qatari Foreign Ministry has thanked the FBI and the NCA, the British Criminal Investigation Agency, for their collaboration in the investigation.

UPDATE 17 July - According to a report sent by US representatives and supported by the Qatari government, it points to the United Arab Emirates as responsible for the cyber attack aimed at the Qatar news agency.
Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash added that the report was wrong and defended his country's innocence in the accusation.
This cyberattack has been perpetrated following disputes between different countries in the area which accuse Qatar of supporting terrorism.
