Posted date 02/10/2017

The registration period to participate in the Individual CTS and Hackathon at CyberCamp 2017 is opened

For the third consecutive year, CyberCamp 2017 will host its two most popular technical events for all programmers and cybersecurity enthusiasts that want to demonstrate their potential: the Individual CTF and the Hackathon.

Individual CTF

Are you young with a broad knowledge of cybersecurity? Test your knowledge with this Capture the Flag competition organised in two phases.

First up are the online qualifiers consisting of downloadable challenges (reverse engineering, forensic analysis, steganography and cryptography), which will begin on 2 October 2017 at 12:00 (CEST) and end on 8 October at 18:00 (CEST). The dynamic consists of assigning points every time the different challenges are achieved. That way, we can assess the areas in which you excel and select the best future experts who will compete in the final stage.

The second phase is face-to-face and will be held on 1 December at CyberCamp in Santander and will be a Jeopardy style CTF competition. On this occasion the challenge will consist of a real environment where participants can test their skills.

Register for the Individual CTF section, until 6 October at 12:00 (CEST).

Hackathon

A competition where you and your team must compete against other teams over three days to develop and improve open source cybersecurity tools, solutions and/or applications.

This year, as something new, participating teams will have the chance to compete with more mature projects they have been working on for some time, and will present their project (new or existing) publicly before a jury and the other participants in the final stage of the competition. During the competition, teams develop their proposal and make a final presentation on their project and the functionalities or improvements developed.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is 3 November 2017 at 23:59 (CET). We recommend that you don't leave the submission of proposals to the last minute as the organization reserves the right to accept those proposals that are sufficiently interesting and attractive throughout the entire period.

You can find more information on the competition in the Hackathon section. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at the following email address: h a c k a t h o n @ c y b e r c a m p . e s
