Tomás García-Merás has, from his beginnings in Sun Microsystems to his current stage in atSistemas, more than 15 years working in the security of public services, specializing in smart cards, cryptography and electronic signature.
He has led iconic projects for the public sector, such as the Customer @firma or Cl @ veFirma, and has collaborated with many organizations in the security of their services, such as the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, the National Currency and Stamp Factory, the Senate of Spain, the Tax Agency or the National Police Force.
Additionally, it is worth noting its strong commitment to free software, not only with its use, but with the creation of open software and its promotion in the public sector, being a regular contributor to the Technology Transfer Center of the Government of Spain on GitHub (with numerous contributions on a personal level, outside projects).
Finally, his strong technical side (as an expert Java programmer and active developer of mobile applications) combined with his business consulting profile specializing in the public sector make him an extraordinary professional and a great communicator.

He has been a senior security researcher for more than 10 years and has published more than 60 academic publications (IEEE, ACM, JCR, conferences on piracy ...), books and computer security tools.
He has also worked on advanced projects with European organizations, public bodies and multinational companies (global 500). For more than a decade, he has participated in the design of security architecture, penetration tests, forensic analysis, mobile and wireless environments and research in information security (leading technical and scientific teams).
