Clara Jiménez Cruz, co-founder of Maldita.es, is a journalist with a degree in audiovisual communication. After 9 years of professional experience at LaSexta, first in the information services and then in different programs of the chain, he was part of the Ana Pastor Target Team until 2018. He currently collaborates with Onda Cero, RNE, Telemadrid and TVE.

She is the only Spanish in the Group of high-level experts on misinformation designated by the European Commission and is also the European member of the Advisory Board of the International Fact Checking Network. She received, together with Julio Montes, the José Manuel Porquet Journalism Prize in 2015 for his work on Maldita.es and his projects have been shortlisted for the European Press Prize in two consecutive calls. She is also, Ashoka Fellow 2019, a recognition as an innovative entrepreneur.

Finally, Clara is a regular speaker at international conferences such as Global Fact (IFCN), LatamChequea or the Fact-checking Summit in Turkey. Because of his experience in the field of the European Commission, she has also participated as a speaker in several conferences organized within the community institutions.
