Cyberattack against Alliance Healthcare impacts on drug distribution

Medicines distributor Alliance Healthcare España suffered an IT incident in mid-March that affected its activities. The company is the Spanish subsidiary of the British group Alliance Healthcare, the fourth largest wholesale distributor in Spain.

The cyberattack reportedly affected the company's servers, causing outages and delays in the supply of medicines to pharmacies and medical centres. Among the systems and activities blocked were services provided to pharmaceutical laboratories and clinical trials, billing and ordering systems, as well as the company's website.
