17 million accounts compromised in the hack to Zomato

Zomato, the Indian-based restaurant search application, has been hacked, resulting in the theft of 17 million user accounts.

The stolen information contains personal information including the email accounts and users passwords. These accounts would be on sale in the deep web for approximately the equivalent of 1,000 dollars in bitcoins.

The incident has been recognized in the official blog of the company, ensuring that the bank details of users of Zomato have not been compromised, and advise to change the password to access other services if it coincides with that of Zomato. In addition, as a security measure they have reset the passwords of all affected users and closed the session of the application and the website.
