BBC suffers cybersecurity attack

The BBC has announced that it has been the victim of a computer attack in which the attackers have managed to steal the data of the members of the pension plan of at least 25,000 employees and former employees of the British company.

In its statement, the BBC has informed that it is in contact with those affected by the data breach in which the attackers were able to obtain pension data including names, addresses, dates of birth and National Insurance numbers.

At no time has the service been stopped and the extracted data are copies, so that the information of the affected users has not been lost. In addition, the company has assured that they have not been used maliciously.

The BBC has reported the incident to the appropriate authorities and has expanded the security team by involving external resources to clarify the details of the attack and monitor the situation.
