The consultancy, Sopra Steria, victim of a ransomware
The French group, Sopra Steria, a European leader in IT services, has reported a cyberattack against its internal network due to a new and unknown version of the Ryuk ransomware.
The security incident occurred last night on October 20, at which time the company implemented the appropriate security measures, which made it possible to contain the threat in a limited part of the group's IT infrastructure and protect its customers and partners.
Currently, they continue working to progressively restore normality to their services.
[Update 25/11/2020] Sopra Steria has reported that no data has been filtered and that workstations, production servers, internal tools and applications, and client connections have been almost completely restored. On the other hand, the company has reported that the unavailability of its systems since 21 October will have a negative economic impact on the operating margin of between 40 and 50 million euros gross.
