Cyberattack against the state-owned operator of Ecuador, CNT EP

Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT EP), the state-owned telecommunications operator of Ecuador, has reported to the State Attorney General’s Office a cyberattack against its IT systems which disrupted online payment and customers services at its Integrated Service and Contact Centers.

In addition, the operator has communicated that the rest of services and customer data have not been affected, and that it is working to find the perpetrators and restore all services gradually.
