Cyberattack on Alcampo

Updated on 28/08/2024

In the early hours of Sunday, August 25th to Monday, August 26th, Alcampo suffered a cyber-attack that affected at least partially its activities. However, they were able to manage it and recover normality.

Alcampo is a company owned by the French group Auchan and has 680 stores in Spain, including hypermarkets, supermarkets, franchises and gas stations. In 2023, Alcampo had a revenue of 4.9 billion euros.

Upon recognizing the cyber-attack, Alcampo activated its contingency plan, mobilizing cybersecurity specialists and adopted the technical, legal and organizational measures that made it possible to minimize the impact and maintain the continuity of services as normal.

Following the incident, which targeted Alcampo's internal distribution systems, only some products were affected and were not available in some retail stores. Alcampo says it has found no evidence of a data leak and denies that the application for brochures and promotions has been compromised.
