Cyberattack on Omni Hotels & Resorts chain
Updated on 03/04/2024
Omni Hotels & Resorts has confirmed a cyberattack that caused a computer outage at its facilities nationwide. Although the hotel chain has not officially disclosed the nature of the attack, sources indicate that it was a ransomware attack. As a protective measure, Omni disabled affected systems, which has impacted services such as reservations, room door locks and point-of-sale systems.
Omni's IT team is working to manually restore the affected systems. In addition, an external investigation by a cybersecurity firm has determined that limited information relating to a subset of the hospitality chain's customers may have been affected.
