Data breach in Orbitz that could affect 880,000 credit cards

The online travel agency Orbitz, subsidiary of Expedia, announced that it suffered an attack that could have compromised the information of 880.00 credit cards of clients who made purchases, between 2016 and 2017, on their legacy platforms for customers and partners. Other data that could have been compromised are the full names of clients, addresses, dates of birth, gender and phone numbers.

The company said that its current website has not been affected and that it has taken measures to investigate the incident and increase the security of the affected platforms. In addition to informing all affected customers, it is offering one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection service in countries where available for users who request it through the website provided for this purpose.
