Denial of service attack disables Lloyds web services for 48 hours

British bank Lloyds was the target of a denial-of-service cyber-attack (DDoS) that caused the online banking service malfunctioning, preventing users from accessing normally.

The bank and the National Center for English Cybersecurity worked together to find the source of the cyberattack and find out if it was also a distraction maneuver to the bank's security department in order to attack other structures.

Lloyds has recognised the incident through a statement and has apologized to affected customers, ensuring that in most cases access was guaranteed with a second authentication attempt.
