ESET partner affected by security incident

Updated on 18/10/2024

Israeli organisations using ESET products have fallen victim to a malicious email campaign aimed at infecting them with wiper malware. In the email, the cybercriminals posed as the company in an attempt to get the targets to download malicious compressed files.

The emails were sent from the domain eset[.]co[.]il, where the malicious archives are also stored. However, ESET claims that the domain, although owned by them, is being operated by their local distributor Comsecure who they point to as the actual victims of the cyber incident. At the time of writing, no further details about the incident are available from ESET or the vendor.
