European Commission withdraws smartwatch model with privacy issues

The European Commission has ordered the withdrawal from the market of the smartwatch Safe-KID-One model of the German brand Enox, as it is considered too dangerous for use, especially among minors.

According to the European Commission, the application with which the clock works does not encrypt communications with its backend server, so a non-authenticated attacker might be able to access private data such as telephone numbers, location history, serial number, etc., and, with a few minor modifications, make calls to any telephone or locate the minor using GPS.

The watch does not comply with the Radio Equipment Directive as it does not guarantee the protection of personal data and the privacy of users. The problem is so serious that it has forced the European Commission to use the RAPEX system for the first time to warn of a product dangerous to our privacy.
