The football team SS Lazio, victim of fraud

According to the Italian newspaper Il Tempo, the football team SS Lazio would have been victim of a scam of two million euros in the last payment to Feyenoord by the player Stefan de Vrij.

The scammer supplanted Feyenoord's identity by email and asked Lazio to pay into a bank account controlled by the scammer. The fraud was discovered when the Feyenoord requested payment and the Italian team indicated that they had already done so.

The Italian Polizia Postale is investigating what happened and tracking the stolen money that would have gone through several countries, also report that the scammer could be of Spanish nationality.
