Leakage of personal data from FBI agents

An unknown group of cybercriminals has released the personal data of some 4,000 employees of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after accessing three related web servers.

Although the servers attacked were not directly related to the agency's headquarters, but corresponded to FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), the published data contained information on names, personal and government e-mail addresses, jobs, telephone numbers, and postal addresses.

The FBI has issued a statement acknowledging unauthorized access, while claiming that the attacked database is already secured.
