Millions of devices affected by a vulnerability in a Broadcom chip

Gal Beniamini, a member of Google's Project Zero research group, has released the technical details regarding to the detection of a critical vulnerability in a Wi-Fi chipset manufactured by Broadcom, which would allow an attacker connected to the same network of the victim executing malicious code remotely in the context of the device's Wi-Fi SoC (Chip System). The affected models corresponding to several manufacturers of mobiles, such as Apple, Samsung or Google Nexus and would affect both the iOS and Android operating systems. After the publication of the vulnerability and due to its criticality, the affected companies have quickly implemented the appropriate security patches.
