Mutua Madrileña supplier suffers cyber-attack

On 23 September, Mutua Madrileña detected a cyber-attack against its home insurance customer database through one of its external providers, as the company itself reported in an email sent to its home insurance customers.

According to what is described in the e-mail, the access to the information was partial and originated due to an incident suffered by one of its suppliers.

In the same email, the company states that the incident was immediately blocked when security protocols were activated. Among the data affected were identification and contact details.

Mutua Madrileña reported to the competent authorities, including the AEPD, and informed the affected customers.
