Personal data of German politicians filtered

Posted date 08/01/2019

Germany has suffered a leak of personal data of politicians, which has affected all parties represented in the government, except for the ultra-right Alternative Formation by Germany (AfD). Among the information presented are telephone numbers, fax numbers, mailing addresses, payment histories, credit card numbers and identity cards.

On December 20, 2018, the data began to be published in a Twitter account, but it was not until the night of January 3, 2019 that the leak was discovered. The account, which had almost 20,000 followers, has now been closed.

After numerous investigations, the German federal police have arrested a 20-year-old boy, who is allegedly the perpetrator of the attack. The young man allegedly confessed to being the perpetrator, but was unaware of the seriousness of his actions.
