Stolen 20 millions of dollars in Ethereum

Cybercriminals took advantage of several misconfigured and Internet exposed Ethereum nodes, thanks to them, they could steal over 20 millions of dollars in mentioned cryptocurrency.

The reported misconfiguration by the Chinese cybersecurity firm Qihoo 360 Netlab was associated with used application to manage Ethereum, it is due by the port 5845 configuration used by the RPC (Remote Procedure Call).

Etherum wallets and mining rigs owners were warned to check theirs configuration to avoid port 8545 exposition.
