Theft of crypto coins through a fake Hello VPN extension

A fake extension of Hola VPN for Chrome has allowed MyEtherWallet.com users to steal cryptomoney.

The malicious extension was designed to redirect users to a fake MyEtherWallet.com portal and in this way obtain the credentials of the users.

The developers of Hola VPN discovered that the Google Chrome Store account they use to publish their applications had been compromised and cyber-criminals used it to upload their malicious extension. The malicious extension was in effect for 5 hours.
