Universal Health Services is a victim of Ryuk ransomware

Universal Health Services (UHS), a US company that provides hospital and health care services, reported in two official statements having suffered a ransomware-type security incident on its IT system at the end of September.

As a result, the company suspended user access to its IT applications related to operations located in the United States, shutting down all systems quickly and shutting down the network to prevent further spread.

They also state that, while carrying out repair and recovery tasks on their IT infrastructure, they have found no indication that any patient or employee data has been improperly accessed, copied or used.
