Vulnerability on Austrian ski lift

The ski lift that connects the Austrian town of Igls with the mountain resort Patscherkofel located at south of Innsbruck had to remain closed due to a vulnerability found that allows a complete control over chair lift system.

The researchers Tim Philipp Schäfers and Sebastian Neefm of IT security enterprise InternetWache, were who found the vulnerability on March 16.

This vulnerability could allow to anyone to access to the sky lift management interface because it haven’t any control access like a login page. The parameters than system could manage was the speed, chairs distances, wire tensions, access logs and system data.
