Public Wi-Fi Security
The use of Wi-Fi networks is part of the daily life of any user. It is difficult to find public places where wireless networks for Internet access are not identified. The undoubted advantages offered by this type of connectivity are also accompanied by security problems if they are not properly configured or protected.
As new cryptographic protections and functionalities are implemented on the 802.11 standard, new vulnerabilities emerge that are exploited by attackers to design tools that facilitate access to protected Wi-Fi networks with which to compromise user communications.
The objective of this course is to describe the relevant concepts around Wi-Fi security and to learn the risks that a user can be exposed to when connecting to public Wi-Fi that are not adequately protected.
