Teams of young cyber-talents from 15 countries of the European Union will test their technical skills and capabilities by trying to overcome a series of challenges

This fourth edition of this challenge, the 2017 European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC) will be held in Málaga on 31 October and 1 November. This is an initiative of the European Cybersecurity Agency (ENISA) and this year is to be held in Spain with the support of INCIBE.

In the 2017 ECSC, which may be considered the European championship of cybersecurity, teams of young cyber-talents from 15 countries of the European Union shall test their technical skills and capabilities by trying to overcome a series of challenges. They have to solve as quickly as possible challenges related to web security, mobile security, hardware (HW) security, radio frequencies (RF), Internet of Things (IoT), cryptography, reverse engineering and forensic engineering.

Last year's edition, which was held in Dusseldorf (Germany), was won by the Spanish team, formed by nine young cyber-talents, which were crowned the best emerging experts in cybersecurity of all Europe.

Technical conferences and employment forum

At the same time, a conference programme and an employment forum will be held, aimed at young experts interested in cyber-security and professionals of this sector who are interested in acquiring new knowledge and skills, and in networking with representatives of the main industry companies.

Attendees may listen to lectures by reputed experts on issues such as the WhatsApp encryption system, the appearance of advanced Wi-Fi challenges through hardware and software, or which is the best approach to cyber-security training, among others.
