The Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) organises a Hackathon at the 4YFN event
The Four Years From Now (4YFN) event, which is part of the Mobile World Congress 2017, will host a Hackathon organised by the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), an entity under the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda through the State Secretariat for Information Society and Digital Agenda.
A Hackathon is a collaborative software (or hardware) development meeting or event held over a short period of time. At this Hackathon part of the 4YFN event, the participating teams will compete against other teams to develop or improve open source tools, solutions and/or mobile applications in the field of cybersecurity and Internet of Things (IoT) security.
This competition organised by INCIBE is free of charge and is open for students, professionals, software developers and/or anyone who is interested in the field of information security and new technologies. It will have an approximate duration of 21 hours in person, between 27 February and 1 March. 15 participants, distributed in teams of maximum 3 participants each, will be selected among the best proposals received, and the best three projects will get a prize, on the basis of the decision made by a panel of experts.
This competition is a means to provide the security community with new abilities and results obtained in a short period of time, also allowing the identification of talent among the participants in a recreational setting.
Registration to submit competition proposals is already open and will end on Thursday 16 February.
