After ten years serving on the Guardia Civil, Mr. Lorenzana has become an experienced investigator, and he also has acquired a high knowledge about Computer Forensics and Cybersecurity. In addition, due to his professional background he has a deep knowledge about Data Privacy regulation, Procedural Law, and Criminal Law in Spain, Europe, and LATAM.

Carrying out diverse activities in order to support investigation regarding Cybercrime, leading projects and activities focused on developing tools to assist investigations, and optimizing the evidence extraction processes

Member of The Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY) of the Council of Europe, assisting countries worldwide in the strengthening of their criminal justice capacities on cybercrime and electronic evidence on the basis of the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime.

Spanish National Contact Point of the 24/7 Network for ensuring speedy assistance among the Signatory Parties of the Budapest Convention and the G-8.

HEAD OF R&D, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, AND SECURITY TEAM OF THE CYBERCRIME CENTRAL UNIT: Guardia Civil (Madrid, ES), August 2013 – August 2015

Carrying out diverse activities in order to support investigation regarding Cybercrime, leading projects and activities focused on developing tools to assist investigations, and deploying security measures of Unit’s infrastructure. Actively participating in the deployment of Spanish Cybersecurity Strategy and engaged in disclosure process of vulnerabilities affecting critical systems.

Also, representing Guardia Civil in INTERPOL (European Working Party & Latin America Group for High Tech Crime), EUROPOL, and COUNCIL OF EUROPE, participating in projects and reports focused on capacity building and strengthening capabilities in Cybercrime fighting around Europe and LATAM.

Served as counter-terrorism intelligence officer in Guipuzcoa (Spain), focused on the fight against E.T.A. as field agent, participating in many and notorious arrests of relevant members of E.T.A.
